Apple Releases Guide for Android Users Who Want to Switch to iPhone
In anticipation of the launch of the new iPhone 6, Apple has released a document to help those with Android smartphones to migrate their data to the iPhone. The document gives step-by-step instructions about how Android users can easily move data such as e-mail, contacts, calendars, photos and more to the iPhone using a new app called Copy My Data. Following Apple's announcement recently of the release of new larger-screened "phablet" iPhones, analysts said they expect a large amount of users of Android phones, such as Samsung and LTE, to switch to the iPhone platform. After the announcement of the new phones, Apple said it had processed more than 4 million iPhone 6 and 6 Plus pre-orders on the first day of pre-launch sales, doubling the previous iPhone 5 pre-order record set in 2012.

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates said during a speech recently that both governments and businesses need to prepare for a world in which humans will be competing with robots for jobs. Speaking at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, DC, Gates said that as the costs for robots and technology go down, the demand for low-skilled jobs will also decrease. He said that governments might eventually have to reduce taxes to persuade big businesses to continue hiring human employees rather than investing in robots to fill the job. He went on to say that even high-skilled workers such as accountants, commercial pilots, astronauts and police officers are at risk of being replaced by AI-based robots in the future.

Xbox One to be released in 26 new countries in September
Gaming console Xbox One will be available for purchase in 26 additional countries by September. Asian countries that will be fortunate enough to receive the product include India, Japan and Singapore. When the Xbox One was launched last November, it was available in 13 countries only. Microsoft, which manufacturers the device, has not announced a release date for Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam or any other Southeast Asian country. The Xbox One was launched around the same time as its arch rival, the PlayStation 4.

Harry Potter Theme Park to Open in Osaka Japan
A new theme park called “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” will open in Osaka Japan in late 2014. The sprawling attraction will be modeled after a theme park that opened at Universal Orlando Resort in 2010, in the US state of Florida. The Osaka attraction will feature replicas of famous Harry Potter landmarks such as Hogwarts Castle and Hogsmeade Village. The harry Potter series is very popular in Japan. The films have grossed about $900 million at the box office and attracted more than 78 million moviegoers.

Last Sunday’s season premiere of “Game of Thrones” was watched by 16.1 million viewers across all platforms, including cable, online streaming and on-demand viewing. This is a 50 percent increase from last year’s Season 6 kickoff episode. The episode was the most-watched premiere ever for both “Game of Thrones” and HBO.
