119-year-old Thai named as oldest person in the country
Authorities in Mae Hong Son are planning to nominate 119-year-old Kamu Tongnumchokdee to the "Guinness Book of World Records" as Thailand's oldest person. Kamu, who is of Karen ethnicity, was born on May 8, 1894. He had four children, one of whom recently passed away. He lives by himself in a one-storey house and his diet consists of coarse rice, vegetables with chilli dip and fish. Relatives say he is healthy and able to fend for himself. Also, he goes fishing everyday.

TrueVisions launches new channel for Manchester United fans
TrueVisions has debuted MUTV, a channel dedicated to the Manchester United football club. The channel will feature programming including live broadcasts of the club's youth team, replays of classic games and programs showing behind-the-scenes footage of Old Trafford Stadium. However, the channel will not show any live Manchester United matches, as local rival Cable Thai Holding (CTH) won the rights last year to broadcast English Premier League games. Manchester United is considered the most popular football club in the world, with an estimated 14 million devoted fans in Thailand.

Bangkok named World's Best City
Bangkok has once again been named the "World's Best City" by Travel & Leisure magazine. The Thai capital has received the honor in each of the last four years. The title of world's best city was determined by questionnaires the magazine sent to its readers. When the responses were compiled, Bangkok topped the list with a score of 90.42%, followed by Istanbul, Turkey at 89.9% and Florence, Italy at 89.8%. Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand ranked 10th with a score of 88.1%. The magazine said each city was rated according to six criteria: sights, culture/arts, restaurants/food, people, shopping, and value. The magazine will formally present the award to the Bangkok governor on July 18 in a ceremony in New York City.

ThaiBev, who are sponsors of Barca, said they wanted to make the match more exciting by giving the home players added incentive. "Of course, all the lads and me are excited by the prospect of facing such a top team as Barca," said former national striker Kiatisak "Zico" Senamuang. "We beat China 5-1 in a friendly recently and we want to prove it was not a fluke. We want to see how we fare against such strong opponents."

Game of Thrones Season 7 premiere brings record ratings
Last Sunday’s season premiere of “Game of Thrones” was watched by 16.1 million viewers across all platforms, including cable, online streaming and on-demand viewing. This is a 50 percent increase from last year’s Season 6 kickoff episode. The episode was the most-watched premiere ever for both “Game of Thrones” and HBO. The Season 7 premiere was arguably the most hotly anticipated episode in the show’s history, coming after a longer-than-usual hiatus between seasons. In years past, “Game of Thrones” seasons have debuted in April, but this season required a longer production period. The show now has 12 episodes remaining - six more this season, and a final six in Season 8.
