The Australian state of Queensland is offering what it calls the best job in the world. The successful candidate will receive a fantastic salary of 150,000 Australian dollars (about 3,750,000 baht) in exchange of lounging around for six months on a paradise island on the Great Barrier Reef. The job is open to anyone who is a good swimmer, an excellent communicator and able to speak and write English. His/her day-to-day duties include strolling along the beaches, snorkeling the reef, and reporting to a global audience on a weekly blog, photo diaries and video updates. The job offer is the state's attempt to boost its tourism industry during a global economic meltdown. Queensland's acting premier said "traditional tourism advertising just doesn't cut it sometimes and we are thinking outside the box by launching this campaign."
